Proverbs 3:11 Yet God has made everything beautiful in its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end.
Morning everyone!
I don't know how you feel about this picture but it's not the most welcoming place of abode I've ever seen. I imagine critters and mice, cobwebs and broken floorboards, mould and decay present here. Nevertheless, this is a picture of how I looked like before Christ came in. This is who the Holy Spirit chose to come and live within. He's doing a lifelong work of transformation in us and renewing our minds. To make us beautiful i.e. the exact replica of Jesus.
Have a wonderful day all.

Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera |
Hi everyone,
It's my very first post, and I wanted to spend the next
couple days dedicated to aloe vera.
It's quite an amazing plant that can be used both outside
and inside the body. It's known for its healing and soothing properties. It has
a wonderful nourishing mix of B-vitamins and minerals that include calcium,
selenium and iron.
Just a tip: A mix of Aloe Vera gel with wheatgerm oil and
coconut milk can promote growth and reduce dandruff.
Pls post any questions and comments
Thanks for reading

A letter to my 15 year-old self
Dear Keji,
I know Secondary school is a bit tough right now, what with GSCEs coming up but stay strong. I know it's a lonely time for you right now. I see you spend a lot of time in the library with not so many friends but don't let it affect you, it's only for a while.
Yes, I know you only received one valentine card in school while the other girls got plenty and you never went on any dates but don't be discouraged, it's not all that a big deal, and trust me. those same guys when school is done are going to be the same ones asking you out - but they missed the boat. You will have more guys than you can count trying to date and marry you. Believe me.
There are a few things I would like for you to do. Expose yourselves to activities and pursue your passions. Yes, I know that guy said, "Keji, you're a good singer but you don't really have the looks to go that far." Don't let people's negativity kill your confidence. You are beautiful and talented.
There are so many good things that are in store for you and accomplishments you have to achieve.
Don't worry about not being allowed to go to the raves and clubs, they're not all they're cracked up to be. Trust Me. As far as having the up to date fashion, don't stress. Everyone shops at more or less the same places in the 21st Century: Primark, Forever21,H&M, Zara. It's whatever! Some even do Vintage - posh name for second hand clothing.
But Keji Be yourself AT ALL TIMES. It really doesn't matter whether or not they like you. You are a considerate, caring and loving person, and you know that so it doesn't matter if people get you wrong.
Smile more.
Strive to keep your good friends you have made. You'll cherish having those old friends by your side in later life.
Learn to speak out more rather than letting things fester and getting angry.
Study harder.
Surround yourself with go-getters.
The best thing about your life, in a few years time you will realise Seyi's mum was talking sense with all this Jesus-talk and 'Born Again' spiel.
I know you are intelligent and you know your virginity is precious. I'm happy you cherish it. Everyone supposedly is enjoying themselves and having sex - A lot of these same girls right now are regretting the decisions they made at this time. Don't be a 'hard rock' when you really are a 'gem'.
By the way, you will know what love is one day.
I love you even if you don't feel that way about yourself or your life right now.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I need some assistance please - Don't worry it's not money.
With the Beauty Page of my blog I will be doing some reviews of products so please let me know what you would like me to review, whether that be cosmetics and/or hair and beauty products.
Now, these products you put forwards can be for those of any age, sex, colour, hair type, skin type etc
I know how it is when you might want to try a product but all you have for reviewsand advice are paid people or beauty columns endorsing it. Not very helpful is it?
Please contact me either here in the comments bar or via email.

The Pursuit of Happiness
"Whatever I do that makes me feel all right"
"Managing to get through life without hating the world and being too affected by its unfairness"
"Happiness is a choice. Choose wisely!!!"
Evening people,
During a system shut-down at work I thought I'd take the time to ask some of my colleagues what happiness meant to them. Unfortunately, some of their ideologies are not what I would call 'Kosher' or in any way, shape or form suitable to be repeated. They would see my blog being reported to the 'Blogger' prefect. However, the first two quotes above are some of the more palatable definitions.
The third quote was 'stolen' from my sister, which resonated within me.
The United States Declaration of Independence deems "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" as fundamental rights of every individual.
I really believe there are times when things happen to us that genuinely put us in a state of happiness like, love, receiving words of encouragement, getting married, having kids, receiving gifts... The list goes on. One thing that did surprise me is that in all my queries not one person mentioned anything about money or wealth. Isn't that funny?
For me, happiness is joy, peace and contentment in Christ and in knowing there's a God that loves me an has my life perfectly placed in His hands.
I'm going to stop here because I would like to do a part two to this at a later date with some responses from kids. But in the meanwhile here are two questions for you...
What is happiness to you?
Is it a choice?

What's your reference point?
Hey all,
Photo from Google images Mrs O'leary
This blog is one of my more thought-provoking blogs. At least not everything is work and play, sometimes we have to sit back, examine, assess and do an internal audit. This blog was inspired by a video uploaded by Tyrese Gibson.
Someone I know, who is an aspiring entrepreneur said to me that he counts Aliko Dangote as one of his role models in the business world. Now, if you don't know Aliko Dangote, then you need to. He's a Nigerian billionaire businessman on the Forbes List and Africa's richest man.
It made me think...
We as human beings are multi-faceted in our role on planet earth i.e. daughter or son; sister or brother; mother or father; uncle or aunt; employer or employee; husband or wife. You see what I mean? So my question is, in whichever sphere of life you are operating, what or who is your reference point? As an entrepreneur, as a Christian, as a wife, as a friend etc. The list is endless. Some may have a particular quote, book or poem that is their personal mantra for life whereas others have people.
We live in a time where we lack mentor-ship and guidance. Coming from a Nigerian background I am proud to say I have many second and third 'mothers' and lots of aunties, including those that give unsolicited advice. You even have those, who at times are practically strangers that will enquire about your life, give advice and tips, and maybe even a link-up to help you on your way.
One of my reference points in life is my wonderful father. I must say I don't know many men like him. He can have his 'off' times but I have never met a man so caring, loving, forgiving, understanding, non-argumentative, non-judgemental and humble like him. He's the standard by which I assess a future husband's qualities, not to mention my own.
To those of you who don't or have had bad role models e.g. dead beat dads or mums, people who have let you down, take these as examples to learn from. As much as we need good teachers we also learn lessons from the bad ones of what not to do.
So here's what to do when looking for someone to mentor or help you.
1. Seek out someone you respect.
2. Experience - This doesn't necessarily mean older but someone who knows more and is more
experienced than you.
3. Common Interest - It will help if they have already gone through what you are facing.
4. Character - Many times a protege ('mentee') patterns his or her life after the life of the mentor.
You want to ensure you are following a person that with good moral standing.
5. Availability - Interaction is important, which you may not always find with 'succesful' people
6. Positivity - Positivity breeds positivity, even at times you may be feeling down.
7. Believes in You - If they don't see potential in you, they will never put effort into you.
8. Honest and Open - A two-way open and honest dialogue about oneself builds credibility and
trust.
So in conclusion, everyone needs a reference point or a benchmark by which we attain our own definition of success in life. Thanks again for taking the time to stop by.
For your improvement,
Miss Castano

Hey Good Looking!
(Circa 19..) All that forehead space
Hey Good
Looking,
Yes I am
talking to you.
"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully
and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works and my soul
knoweth very well." -- Psalm 139:14
I was
thinking to myself recently how many of us are never guilty of ever taking a
bad pic nowadays. Most of us look like an imitation of Bey, Rihanna, even Nicki Minaj.
Now, excuse my age but I remember the times of cameras with negative films when you just had to hope and pray for the best. However, after a week of waiting for your unedited and unfiltered pics you saw yourself as you really were. I am sure we have all had that dreaded school picture or the 'red eyes'. Face it, back in the day our pics could be actually used to trace us if we were missing.

Going
back to the main point of the scripture above, I think India Arie said it best, “I
know my Creator didn’t make no mistakes on me”, or you for that matter of fact.
Nevertheless
I am still grateful for technological improvements.
Just felt
like sharing.
For your
encouragement,
